Joanna’s approach to esthetics lies at the intersection of beauty, art, and science. Raised between Poland and the United States, she grew up navigating contrasting beauty cultures, while her academic background grounded her in skin physiology and scientific reasoning. That duality shaped a results-first philosophy that has defined her work ever since.
Originally on a pre-med path, she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and worked in healthcare before turning her focus to skin—first through her own persistent skin concerns, then through an all-consuming study of its biology, ingredients, and behavior.
That curiosity led her into esthetics school and advanced training at the International Dermal Institute in California. Early in her career, Joanna trained across major beauty capitals—Chicago, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and New York City—honing her technique inside high-caliber environments and learning from leading practitioners across the industry. As her education evolved into practice, so did her philosophy, which came to balance clinical knowledge with creative intuition.
In 2013, she moved to the East Coast and joined Rescue Spa in Philadelphia as Lead Esthetician. Surrounded by industry heavyweights, she sharpened her clinical judgment and elevated her standard of care, establishing herself as a trusted authority.
Nearly a decade later, with a loyal clientele and a waitlist that spoke for itself, she founded Skin Devotee in Rittenhouse Square. Launched in 2021 during a pandemic, The studio quickly became a destination for personalized, results-driven skincare, built on client trust and integrity.
Today, Joanna is known for her rare combination of clinical expertise and refined aesthetic sensibility. Her approach is intentional, unhurried, and highly customized, focusing on long-term skin change over quick fixes.
